Change transmission oil mid size 500 efi

    Question:
Is the Owner's Manual wrong about the fill plug and drain plug on the 2011 500efi? The manual drawing shows the fill plug and drain plug on the same side of the transmission gear case. A visual inspection, however, seems to show the drain plug on the right (passenger) side of the engine, but no fill plug. The fill plug is on the left (driver's) side of the gearcase unless I'm looking at something else.

Also it appears that the skid plate absolutely has to come off to get to the drain plug. Comments? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Doug. I hope the guys who wrote the Service Manual are not the same ones who did the Owner's Manual. I've probably a dozen or more mistakes in it, some serious. WTF?

Yes you're right about the diagram being wrong (I found out last week). Do you mean the engine oil drain plug requiring the skidplate removal? I don't think it's necessary to remove it to drain the tranny.

    (Taken from another thread)

I just got the 2011 Mid-size Service Manual. I see Page 7.19 contradicts page 7.2 as to the correct torque for the wheel nuts used with the alum' rims.

Any other mistakes, could you list them here? That way others can update their manuals.
