No sir... Clear as it can be. Do you have a good ground, going to amplifier? Might check your ground. Also, lower quality speaker wire could be the cause. I did use a quality, tinned marine grade 12ga speaker wire. Do you have noise from the radio, without the amp? Could possibly be an issue with just the amp.

Neither. I have the 2004 TM which certainly is loud. I assumed, given the nature of the beast, that all models have their fair share of noise.

Speaker connections are low impedance, won't pick up engine noise, regardless of quality.

The noise may be ground-related. I would check any higher impedance wiring, like inputs, for proper grounding. Or the unit itself. Also try moving the ground reference, that is, the main ground connection to the amp closer to, or right to the battery terminal.

I'm no "audiophile" by any means, but I do know that speaker wires can pick up interference from a power source. Maybe not necessarily "engine" noise, but noise just the same. Especially lower quality wire that is less shielded. Higher quality wire is generally better shielded.

    Said that too...

I've always been told by others far more knowledgeable than I, that the amplifier ground should be no further than 18" from the unit.... As close as possible, the better. But definitely, a bad ground is usually the culprit.
Stephen, did you remove the coating from the frame, where you grounded the amp? I removed a spot with a small grinder, for a solid bare metal ground. Then painted over it, once ground. Anyways, hope you find it. I know that can be annoying.
