engine check light and seat belt light

Was duck hunting this past weekend and was 20 degrees with 9 wind chill after running out in water just covering floor boards , it sat for a couple of hours on dry land while hunting .
When i came back and cranked it went dead a couple of times and then cranked and when i put it in gear it went dead a couple of times . Then the check engine light came on and seat belt light . I ran it back out into water to retrieve gear and after running for a little while all the lights went off.
Any ideas or should i even be concerned since they went off.

Could be a weak battery due to cold temps. These machines do crazy things on a weak batt.

Doesn't mean it isn't bad. But if you're determined then change the stator.

    Especially in Rangerville.
Did you ask it if it was fine? I ask my wife lots of questions that the answer to is "fine" (when things are obviously not fine! Lol)

Do us a favor and check your voltage on your batter. Then I would check for corrosion in any of your terminals and wire harnesses. Just because water was at the floor board doesn't mean it wasn't splashed or had some go up higher.

Check the terminal connections at the battery when you check the voltage. Many times the batteries are connected at the dealer just before delivery. I've had one that was not even finger tight. Once I snugged it down and the battery fully charged, it ran like a spotted ape.

When you check the battery, be sure to do it when you are cranking the engine over. You could have 12 volts at the terminals with everything static, and find far less than that cranking. Also be sure to check the voltage at the starter terminal and ground when cranking if the voltage is good at the battery. You should have about 10 volts at the battery and the starter when cranking. Anything less than that will result in slow/no cranking.
