    2012 ev no headlights

Hello Forum, I need some help with my ev the headlights stopped working the other day.
everything else works and operates. I have a service manual so I trouble shoot the problem that way.
    1. I have no indicator light on the headlight switch.

    2. I have 28.3 volts at the switch and fuse also at the converter.

    3. I have replaced the converter once before a couple of years ago could this be the problem ?

    Thanks

Not sure but before I would spend $300 for a Polari$ voltage reducer{ converter } for the headlights I would do a little creative rewiring and install one these -

I don't have wiring diagram for a electric ranger , you mentioned you have one , look and see if there's anything tapped in the middle of the battery bank , if not then it should have 48 volts at the input to the converter .

After doing a quick google I see you should have 48 volts going in to the converter .
This converter is nothing different { except price ! } than what is used on golf carts to reduce the 48 volts to 12 volts .

You didn't mention if you're running add on accessories { light bar , radio , etc } that would pull more current and lead to your failure , here's a link for a 30 amp unit if you are running extras .

thanks, I think I have to get to the bottom of why there's not 48 volts to converter.

there are no accessories off the 12 volt bar.

ok, so I rechecked my findings and used the ground lug on the controller in stead of chassis that gave me my 49.0 volts apparently you can't use the chassis as a ground connection.
using that ground I do have 49.0 volts at the converter. but nothing coming out, so I will order a converter.

Ronzbobcat none of the 48 volt Ev or golf cart have a chassis ground. On the Polaris EV the 12 volt ground is on of the 3 prongs under the hood by brake master cylinder or for 48V the controller or passenger side back battery negative post.
