    Turf Mode?

I know this has been talked about before in the past but was wondering if anyone had anymore thoughts on trying to install turf mode on the RZR. I know we've got some pretty sharp members on here when it comes to wrenching on these things. The RZR is a sport machine where posi-trac is nice but there's times when single track would be nice as well, pulling in and out of the garge on the concrete, turning around on blacktop county roads, turning in the yard and not to mention it would make them steer a little easier. I could be way off base but I think it would be a nice feature for the RZR that several folks would like.

Another member (can't remember his name) has worked on a solution to that for a while, but I don't think he has come up with an answer yet. I find the strangest part to be that the UK model has the turf mode, but Polaris decided to delete that on the US version .

If the solenoid is already in place and just not hooked up (I have no idea if that's the case), you could simply run a hot wire and toggle switch to enable it.

Boy that is weird. I didn't realize the UK models came with turf mode, wouldn't it have been easier for Polaris to just put it on all of their RZR's regardless of where their shipped lol. I appreciate the information guys at least this tells me it can be done, just have to figure out the details, thanks.

I've been doing a little parts research and in the process actually found a guy who'd converted his to have turf mode. A very nice writeup with all the details and pics. The bad part is the project will cost approx. 1200.00 in parts. You have to order the rear diff parts for the international RZR-4 and as another added cost you have to use the international ECU or a cheaper route by using a relay and bypass the ECU. The writeup gave the details on the relays and wiring. I would love to have the turf mode but it won't be cheap.

Yeap, Dennis was the one that I was trying to think of (I'm horrible at remembering names ). I din't realize that he had finally found a solution....albeit, an expensive one. A man can buy a liot of tires for $1200.

Ah, but thats just the beauty of turf mode. Now my tires dont scrub.

    Turning radius is smaller too.

Oh, I'm sure. I have so much weight on the rear of my Ranger that I get a lot of traction back there and the difference in turning radius is significant with the diff' locked.
