    Parking brake problem we think

My buddy has an 08 xp and he has trouble sometimes with after releasing the parking brake he can't accelerate. He hits the gas and it is hesitant. Like there might be some kind of bad sensor or something. It almost sputters like it would if a person was on the limiter but the rpms are not that high. Any help would be awesome.

There is a sensor on the parking brake that is suposed to prevent you from driving away with the brake on. Find the connector, unplug it, and apply some dilectic grease to the connector. That should fix it.

Mine quit holding at 60 miles. Turned out the brake pad was shot already. They must have adjusted it too tight during setp.

The parking brake has always been a weak spot for the Ranger. I did the "Nethawk mod" on mine and it made a big difference, but it's still a cheesy set-up that needs routine adjustment and can drag at inoportune times. I eventually removed the E-brake completely and have been using it "brakeless" for almost a year . I'm about to install a line lock on mine and cure all of that.
