2011 Ranger 800 XP Restricter Plate

So I have a 2011 Ranger 800 and I have been reading that there is a restricter plate in the intake. I have also read they are not on the XP models. Does anyone know for sure? I have seen on Google searches that some are in the intakes hose, while others are a plate located between the throttle body and the head. My 800 runs good but if pulling a hill it wont accelerate hardly at all. Just seems to hold the same RPM'S. Does anyone have any info on the 2011 XP 800's??

I don't have anything to enlighten you about this topic, but there are guys on here that can. I'm a bit interested in the answers you get, so I'm subscribing to this thread. One thing that kills power in these is a weak fuel pump, and some have expressed similar scenarios to yours and it was cured with a new fuel pump. I haven't experienced any symptoms myself, yet.

Pretty certain just the crews and 6x6 had the restrictor plate.

I have a '12 Ranger 800 HD, and it had the intake restrictor. As I understand it, the 800 HD's, and the 800 Crew models have the restrictor. Not sure about the 6x6 models. Pretty sure the 800 XP does not, although not sure of year-by-year. In the Ranger Discussion section I describe how I removed the restrictor out of mine. If you want a look, it's under the title "Intake Restrictor (In my '12 Ranger 800HD)". Also, I modified the gas pedal in my Ranger and have a thread on that in the Members Tips heading. In it I describe how my Ranger performed after I removed the Restrictor. But again, I do not believe you have it. I could be wrong. This is how I described my Rangers performance after I removed the restrictor.
( Also, taking out the throttle restrictor definitely made a nice difference. "Out of the Hole" feels a little slower, but that may be due to the new pedal. But the difference comes in at half throttle and above. Definitely more power. I really noticed it when I was loaded up and heading back over to the Field. I had one of the Moultrie feeders in the bed because I just repaired it after squirrels tried to make a meal out of it. Also had my tool box, and pouch of Rigid power tools. And four bags of corn (50lb. bags). Not a lot of weight, but about 250-260lbs.. But yea, I'm happy, and waiting for winter! Bring it on.......)

'11 800 XP definitely does not have the restrictor.

My friend says to me, “What rhymes with orange?” I said, “No it doesn’t.”
