This is a copy of a post I made in another thread to let everyone know that the long-awaited Foot Saver floorboard heatshield kits are now done and ready to bolt on to YOUR '09 XP or HD!
Okay, finally!
We are FINALLY done with the footwell heat guard, and have officially dubbed it the '09 Foot Saver Kit. It is $49.98.
As quite a few people who were lucky enough to test this have stated, it is super easy to install-takes 10 minutes tops. It is also easy to remove. For those of you that had the prototypes, we have now changed the upper screws to plated instead of stainless. This allows the hardware to stay on your magnetic driver bits when you are installing it, and makes it a lot easier.
I'd also like to thank everyone who has called or e-mailed me asking when this would be ready, and thank you all for your patentience while we hammered out the last details of this kit. I know your feet are on fire, and I have been working as fast as possible to get these out.
But now the wait is over! Call us at 928-453-5492 to order yours. We now have a batch made and will be shipping this week. If you get the machine when you call, please leave your number. We have been very busy and can not get to everyone right away, but I promise you we will call you back.
Here is what the kit looks like installed...
The production ones have slightly different hardware. |

I used the heat shield idea that eagle 3293 made and it worked great on reducing the amount of heat coming through the pedal/steering shaft area. I bought two feet of black rubber floor runner material at Lowes. It was enough material to make 6 rubber shields. If you take your time you can make a template out of card stock and transfer everything to the rubber. I'd take a picture but it looks exactly like eagles. Now I need to order the dash seal kit. It has made an amazing difference. I don't think I spent over $15 for the 2 feet of rubber. _________________

How much time did you spend and what's your time worth?
Our kit installs in way less than 10 minutes.....and for those that like the heat in the winter, it removes just as fast....just sayin. |

Buba91 as far as I know Rangerware doesn't offer a foot saver kit for the 2009. The kit you got from them had to be for the 2008 Rangers and back. You are not comparing apple to apples with DJFAB's kit. More importantly, if DJFAB's kit works as well as they say it does it is well worth the money. _________________ Ken

i put the foam kit from polaris on last night, along with djfabs kit and heat problem is gone. the foam kit was very easy to put on. i did remove roll bar, upper and lower dash & hood. took everything apart one night and put back together next.
the foam dash kit would have been soooo easy to add at the factory...why not do it then or have dealer install?
djfabs kit was easy to install too _________________ 2009 polaris ranger xp le sunset red, maxxis, rear brush guard, half windshield, bimi top |

OEM factory install would be so easy and not cost that much either. Wonder if they address the problems on the 2010 models. My bet they won't! Where they test at -30 heat is their friend _________________ Ken

I have a little over an hour into this solution. I hope I didn't infer that DJFAB isn’t a nice solution. It’s a beautiful accessory and install. I just offered a solution that didn’t cost me $49 and, I had 5 extra rubber flaps that I gave to friends for their machines. All very appreciative I might add. When I’m wrenching on my toys, I don’t place a value on my time because I’m doing exactly what I want, when I want. Thanks for creating great looking and functioning products DJFAB. _________________

On my 700 XP my floor boards get hot and my engine compartment heats to the point where the plastic can be bent by hand. I contacted the dealer and he said that is happens when taken out in the heat and pushed hard in the mountains like we do.
My solution is....
I just picked up a 1000 CFM fan and am mounting it behind the inspection plate in the center of the seat. My plan is to push air from the can across the engine in the summer. In the winter I will put the inspection plate back on. I also bought an air temp sensor for the engine compartment and a liquid temp sensor.
Will post pics when all installed. |

Sean, welcome to PRC. Your Ranger should not get that hot. Occasionally we hear of one that does, but thats extreme. What year is your Ranger? _________________ Curt
