I think I might put the whole thing on blocks and go through the motions to see if I can isolate the noise

    That would be correct, Why?
Because now you have powered the Armature, creating resistance on the Armature plate, in effect tightening up the assembly. (Very Short version)

It can be corrected, it just requires a little work.

The straight cut gears will always make some noise, that is inherent to the design.

Probably. It's all free from the dealer, so I will let them do the process of elimination.

Good news. The new prop shaft did the trick. No vibration or rattle anymore.
As they were on back order, he took a shaft out of one of his inventory and put it in mine. Rides great now.

It appears as though the front prop shaft is going south again. Lots of play at the front diff along with the regular rattling noise.
I'm not a real hard hitter with this thing, mostly around the farm hauling wood and what not. No jumping or hard hill climbing, ( my god I sound boring ), or any of that so it's got me baffled. Any thoughts? Thanks

Have not been reading about a lot of problems with the prop shaft w/ the slip joint so it's odd that you have gone through two of them. Obviously, the root cause lies somewhere else. The first thing that jumps out is apparent weight of your machine -- with all your options, that thing's got to weigh a ton! Have you mounted your plow yet this year? Does the problem start minor then get worse over time? Is it worse/better/same when you go into 4WD? Do you spend a lot of time in 4WD? Is it worse/better/same when you have a big load?

You know why when geese fly in a V, one side of the V is longer than the other? More geese on that side.

These machines are barely built to run stock, mod them up and things start to fail.

I wonder if the carrier bearing is bad also ? I’m thinking about changing mine to the sandcraft brand.
