  1. WHAT OIL ???,...the age old question.

    RZR-S Discussions
Modern automotive (api SN, SM on label) oils are formulated for emissions and fuel economy and don't have adequate additives (ZDDP) for the small hi-reving displacement engines. Yes, you can run them in an RZR/Ranger but over time you will get deposits and cam lobe wear. Most people who use API...
  2. Trans and front diff fluid ?

    Ranger Technical
I would not be afraid to and will on my 2018 RZR S 900. The lube never caused a failure, that's typical blame something else because those big tires and the beating I gave it had nothing to do with the failure. Polaris maint. schedules are designed to drive the customer into the dealer, Power...
  3. Trans and front diff fluid ?

AMSOIL in both my machines, the 2016 RZR 900 EPS and the 2018 RZR S 900, would not use anything else. I have over 2,000- miles on the 2016 and its not been changed yet. Everything Polaris uses to build their machines comes from the lowest bidder. My nephew works for a big vendor to Polaris...

Simple web sites work better and feel better to the user. It seems those who maintain these sites are always looking at improvements (aka job security) when nothing is broken.

With my 2018 RZR S 900, I asked my dealer how much just to change the oil if I provided my own oil and filter? I did not even mention doing the trans etc. Shop charge for anything is $99 minimum. I took my 2017 Sierra PU to a local GMC dealer with my own oil and filter, they charged me $20...

Lube Tech out of Minnesota is the Polaris Oil vendor, hop skip and a jump down the road from Polaris hdqtrs. I know this because Polaris said so in promoting one of their race teams. Oddly enough it listed Lube Tech as one of a many sponsors but the sleds and the hauler had AMSOIL logs all over...

SAE grades in increments of 5. There is no such thing as a 2W-xx anything. They had to make it up. As defined by SAE J 300, if it fails as a 0W-xx but passes as a 5W-xx it must be labeled as a 5W-xx. 2W-50 was a marketing gimmick to keep customers buying Polaris lubes.

We use AMSOIL in all our machines, 3 RZR's, 1 Sportsman, ! Honda Rincon The oil and oil filter you choose are critical to engine performance and durability. It’s not the time to skimp on quality. I would recommend sticking to OEM type filters, not high flow or performance filters. With very...

Polaris has tight control on who they sell parts to so only authorized dealers have access to their distribution system. Whats more if you should find it for sale on places like Ebay or Amazon be aware you are probably buying from unauthorized vendors. Polaris (and many others) will not honor...

All too often dealers don't really prep the vehicles, they merely un-crate and put them together and that's about it. Ignore checking fluids.

AMSOIL is a good choice, they have purpose built lubes of the highest quality. They been a pioneer of synthetic lubes since the early 1970's. Every manufacturer with a motor has an oil with their name on it, every one. It’s a big revenue stream for the OEM’s because they eliminate the middle...
