I have a 20month old that i would not want to break down and be eaten by black flies I will buy an extra belt and have the tools to change it. Will a ranger 6x6 fit in the back of an 03 chevy dually? and what tools will it take to change the belt on the side of the trail? thanx Ed

Ed,
Welcome to the forum. The 6x6 hasn't been experiencing broken mounts that I've heard of but that may be because there aren't as many sold. To be on the safe side get a spare belt (everyone should carry anyways, just like a snowmobile) and mount. Changing is easy, you just need to get the sealed cover off, and if you have the storage box on yours that'll need to come off also. Mine can be changed out in about 20 minutes or less in the feild, very easy and no tools required except for the cover removal. Oh yea, get a service manual, they're worth it.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the new 6x6.Nice to see a fellow canuck on here as well.I think Allan pretty much summed it up on the belt changing part and as for the question about the truck,it will fit in the back of your truck however, the rear tires will be sitting on the tail gate and from experience, they don't last long[:D][:(][:D](the tail gate i mean)Trailers are just much easier.I have a 7x11 trailer for mine and it works great. If you can post some pics of your new beast.

I have a 3500 and sometimes it's not enough.I would go with at least a 4000.Could you not put a hitch on the back of your camper and haul the 7x12 behind it?Just a thought.

Ed,
2 things to have them check, the front motor mount and clutch alignment. With that many hours on your machine you should still be breaking the belt in. BTW Polaris has come out with a new belt for the 700 XP that should work well for yours.

Check into some of the posts on the XP belt and motor mount problems, I remember reading about the new belt there somewhere.
