Well after seeing the pic of the bigg black 6x6 with irs all the way makes me wonder if polaris will or if they would put it in production.

If they will it will sell me on the 6x6.

Also for christmas I need it to have enough room for 28 inch tires. The mud here in Louisiana gets deep.

Anyone else thinking on these lines.

Joshua,
I've been thinking about this for a while now and posted the same thoughts when the IRS 4x4 Ranger first came out. My thoughts on the picture are that someone probably took the Ranger IRS and installed it onto a 6x6. If you look at the two frames side by side it looks do-able.
But I also would be first in line for an IRS 6x6.

Extending the rear frame and axles is very possible and probably not all that difficult, we've had a few here that were done and they would accept 28's when stretched. Stock the general rule is 26" is as big as you can go, some 27's may work but I would measure the actual tire size as they can run a little different.

The rear on the newer ones are IRS any way. What you have to do to get those results is stretch the rear section, fab up new shock mounts, have a driveline made and get the front gorilla lift, and like two rear lifts, not impossible, but plenty of fab work and plenty $$$. It is awesome!

As far as I know the 6x's only come with a straight rear axle, at least for the time being. It makes me mad because this was one of the questions I wanted to ask the engineers and R&D people when we visited Polaris. Maybe they'll read this a respond[}:)][:D][:D]

If you look at the frames of a 4x4 and 6x6 they look identical and I'm not sure that an IRS rear couldn't just be added, and probably without a lot of work. I'd bet that's all that was done to the black ranger in the photo. Just buy an IRS rearend from a 4x4 and extend the frame rails but add a few inches over stock and you'd have the room for a lot bigger tires. If someone would send me a blank check I'll get started on this right away and let you all know how I make out and what parts are needed......what do you think[:D][:D]

Same here Joshua[:(] If it wasn't I'd have an extended 6x6 Ranger and a RZR for weekend runs with the guys in the garage now. Maybe in my next life[:0][:)]
