Hi guy's, just me again.

Couple of questions have popped up, is the box the same size on a new 900 as my 09 700? thinking about building a jump seat for the grandkids and if I should ever update to a 900 hoping it will transfer. The other is a soft top and don't care if it will work on the 900 just wondering; prices range from $39-199 with the one I'm considering an oem Polaris @ $99, how durable and can it be trailered? should probably use a hard top but worried about heat dissipation(me). Will have to run a steel bracket from center of front roll bar to back for mounting light bar GPS and bolt a small plate through the top for the antenna, anybody see problems here?

Technically the bed box itself is not the same size ( although very close), but the lock and ride holes ( spacing, diameter and taper) are the exact same. So you can transfer the seat.

Caution: since you are making a jump seat, be sure and bolt the bed down. The latches could let go and injure your grandkids.
I know several members have used them with no problems, but I am not a fan of the jump seat.
JM2C, when it comes time for a new unit, you may want to consider the crew.

I believe a soft top with adjustable straps would work on both units. As far as trailering with the soft top on, I would say no. The wind resistance will probably stretch, or rip it, in some form.

Thanks Greg!

I have the bed bolted, didn't like the jerk when I put 1500lbs of sprayer in it, going to mount the seat in a couple of the lock and ride holes, a crew is out just to big. The top I will have a steel bracket underneath with a plate bolted on top through the canvas effectively holding it down, I think....

Ok, another question; can I remove the bottom of the dash without taking the whole top off? Looks like maybe I can but not sure around the clove box. Need to replace the bushings in the tilt steering column.
