It is partially true per www.snopes.com. The photo was shopped to put the boy in it. It was shot with a handgun though. Here is the story on snopes. http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/bighog.asp

The article appears in our local paper today. This PIG was killed in AL and the boy DID kill it. Questions are being raised whether or not the pig was pen raised and then trucked in and released to be killed.
Yeah, ALOT of people are gonna question that. Either way, that thing is HUGE!
It isnt photo shopped. The boy killed it but it was farm raised.
