So, I was all set to replace my 2007 XP's stock air box/air filter with a K&N with outerwear.

I'm not sure how other year/model Rangers are setup but the stock air box of my 2007 XP has what appears to be a 2 inch intake hose that's routed towards the front end. I'm assuming that this is some kind of cold air intake. Also, I have one small hose that's routed to the air box. Although I didn't trace it, Im assuming that it goes to the crank case. There's a nub for a second hose connection but it is capped.

So, the question is, has anyone with a 2007 XP replaced the stock airbox with a K&N or Uni and if so, what did you do with the large 2" intake hose that goes out of the bottom of the airbox?

Thanks,
Tim

I wouldn't replace it. It gets to dirty. Some will chime in that have put the stock one back on. I just put a drop-in there "UNI". I jet carbs, etc for a living and we can always jet higher on a UNI filter than a K&N. Also, that extra one capped is for the 4x4EFI (500cc) model. It goes to the brake reservoir. I plugged both. Here is a link. http://www.prcforum.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=539 I will post new setup pictures soon.

I would like to have that part # for the list. I really like the underhood k&N airfilter setup. It adds some low end.

Not true. It's not his fault. My local ATV shop ran into same problem. BikeMan doesn't have a updated catalog. If he calls UNI they will give him the part number [;)] I have one in mine.

i got mine in today at work. dealer cost. rode with it for about 30 mins and broke a motor mount and it spit the belt out of the clutch cover exhaust. could tell a difference and filter has a good tight fit.
