Hi,
I am new here and about to pick up my (first) 2011 polaris ranger 800 xp, and the dealer wants to sell me a roof to go with it.

I believe it is the kolpin 3 piece roof. My question is does anyone have any experience with this roof. I am worried about leaks due to it being in 3 pieces, but he assures me not to worry.

I have also been looking at the EMP hard top with LED map light, any comments on this particular roof? I'm a little worried about this roof because it states on their website that it fits with their windshield, but does not state it will fit with others.

If anyone has any other recommendations around the $300 range, that would be great.

Thanks

if the dealer is selling you the polaris sport roof for the crew, it's a horrbile design. It's made to leak right on the driver and passenger. We saw one on a crew when we were at the dealer finallizing our crew, and it was raining out side at the time, this thing leaked everywhere. Cancelled ours right there.

The one he is selling is for the regular cab.

He did mention he used to sell one for the crew, and he stopped carrying it because it leaked.

He says the one he sells won't leak, but I am starting to think I would like one that I could stand on to reach things high up.

I just got some kiln dried 2X4s and a piece of decking board and cut it to my preferred size and painted it and clamped it on with U bolts....makes a nice place to rest and a great platform to sit on a portable chair and watch for deere. Think I got about $25 in it..don't leak a bit. :D

I would check out the probox roofs, they have lots of different ones with and without radios, lights, etc.Price is a little high but you get what you pay for. They have a web site and I think you can buy straight for them and cut out that middle man and save some bucks :!: They are located in Kaufmann Tx. I bought a custom metal roof without do the research :!: :?:

I completely agree with dlineman1....I purchased a probox top about 2 weeks ago, hurt the wallet but you get what you pay for. Light weight, durable, grade A construction, etc etc etc

My daughter decided to put a cinder block on top of the roof and as i reversed out of the garage the garage door came with me. Gave me a heart attack but the top did not have a scratch. Garage door and tracks are in about 5 different pieces!!

Well I placed an order for the EMP top last week and I just got it in today, but they shipped me the wrong thing. Instead I recieved a windshield, but I got the hardware for the top. So, I hope they make this right fast because I am heading out to my deer lease very soon. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

But they did send me my cv boot covers like I ordered, so I will atleast be able to get those on.

Thanks for all the help. I'll keep you posted on the top.
