2011 ranger 800xp, 2200 miles. Ran perfect until yesterday, Backfired twice, wont start. Pulled fuel line at connection on top on engine, lots of pressure, pulled one spark plug looks clean but could not get spark, when grounded to head. When I try to start it turns over fine and after a second or two I hear a clicking sound doing something for a second or two. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting. Has fuel. Used every weekend.

Crystal, could be the coil or the ECU, so check the wires and connections but hopefully it is the CRANK POSITION SENSOR. I would locate it ( passenger side rear of motor) and check the wires for broken/chafing . They will rub clean through... Sometimes the wires fry inside the connector plug. Pull it out and clean it with electronics cleaner... If all else fails, check it for OHMS and see what you get..
