I have a 2012 800 xp Ranger 4x4 with inop AWD after the front end froze up (ice) The coil checks out at 24oms, the switch checks out on continuity checks, and I have 11-12 vdc going to the coil. Consequently this voltage remains constant regardless of switch position once turned on. Also the front wheels freely turn with no obvious binding or noise. Rear wheels operate in turf mode and two wheel drive with no problem, no nose. The drive shaft is turning to the front end. No ECM codes.

Any suggestions?

I think you said you changed the lube and it didn't have any water in it? What do you mean when you say it froze up? Snow, water in a creek?

I don't have a schematic but maybe someone will show up to help you with the electrics.

Thanks, I pulled the front end out and found the problem.....pretty much trashed. main gear and cage broken. From what I have read about this machine the front differential is too light for it. When I said froze up, snow and ice conditions in the woods hunting. When I got done hunting the front end seemed to be froze up (front wheels would not turn) apparently when engaging the 4WD to leave, it just blew the front end.
