I am posting here b/c I just realized, the 570 FS people don't have their own forum. Given all the promotions and increased sales, maybe it makes sense to give them their own forum or at least modify an existing forum to specifically include them. I wasn't sure where to put this...

Anyway, just wanted to share something I learned from my dealer when we were talking about the 570 vs. the 900. He is a high volume dealer and said the 570 is terrific, the only complaint anyone really has is the noise especially compared to the 900. So, he said they ordered a bunch of the 'silent rider" noise reducing mufflers formerly known as Benz?? and he said they work extremely well and as quiet as the 900.

just wanted to share what I learned in case it is helpful to anyone.

The thing that concerns me most with that type of muffler is the potential for heat buildup in the engine compartment. I'd keep a close eye on that for the first several uses, and again when the weather warms up.

Where did you see the reviews?

Also, i used to own one, installed it on a honda rancher and it without a doubt helped. I used it for 10 yrs in florida and didnt have any heat problems but not sure about rangers. I forget what the noise reduction claim was, but my experience was that it was less than promised but in the end, i was happy with it. I recently sold the honda and pulled the benz off bc i thought it would sell better wo it and i could definitely tell a difference in noise. Only a guess but i would say around 25-30 percent reduction vs what was prob 50 percent claim but for 200$, was ok with me.

When the warranty period is up, I will take my unit into an auto muffler store and hope to achieve a quieter unit. I have no idea if this is real, but something to view

Interesting. I would say 15 percent improvement, not great. That might suggest the benz wont work as well on the ranger.

Nice vid. It's definitely quieter but the engine noise is hard to defeat

I've had the Benz on all my Polaris machines for years. Love them. Put it on my '15 570 within a week. Now it's very easy to hear the wife while we wheel around the woods. Uhm wait a minute....maybe I should take it back off!

Thanks for replying. It sounds like it works well for you. Several of the online reviews I read indicated it had little if any noise reduction. Did you happen to check decibel levels before and after?

Same here. The reviews I saw were not impressive.

I didn't. I'm purely going by the perceived sound while riding. Stock there was no way short of yelling to have a conversation, particularly going up a grade. With the Benz we can talk almost in normal voices. I can also say that hearing coming towards you in an open field shortened up by at least a hundred yards.
The only downside I can see is that it would probably interfere with a rear bumper. There isn't much room between the muffler and the bed when it's dumped.
Installing it was no big deal because I have a welder for the adapter but I did take the bed off for better access. Other than that it was drill a couple holes and tighten some bolts.
I don't know, I like it. I never read any other reviews. For some reason others aren't that impressed.

I think the noise on the 570 is an unavoidable characteristic of the single cylinder engine. As great as it is in so many ways, i found it intolerably noisy and for that reason, could not buy one despite the huge rebates. Anyone who cares about the noise should buy the 900 bc it appears there is little you can do to materially reduce the noise. It can be improved but as the reviews suggest, only modestly.

Who is your dealer. I would like to call them to see about the feed back they received so far. Thx
