Buddy of mine has 13' ranger 900 and sometimes it stops running halfway up steep incline. Almost as if its running out of fuel. Once he coasts back down sometimes it starts right away and sometimes it needs a couple minutes to clear the computer maybe. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Try changing fuel filter

Check the fuel pressure, sounds like the pump is unable to meet the demand for fuel. I don't know the specs for the 900 - so I can't help you there, check in a shop manual for the 900.
