There is 1/2"expanded metal on back side of the rack to protect the glass rear panel.

Very nice! Is it hard to take off to pop the rear window out?

No the bumper acts kinda like a counter balance. The bed still tips up. But the rack has tubes that go down in hole's 1&2 for the lock and ride. Tubes have nut welded in the end for a bolt with a flat washer to secure it in place from the bottom.

I really like the idea of some protection for the rear glass.

Great job.

I see your from Superior, Been snowmobiling around Brule and Iron river for years. How many trails can the wider Ranger's go on? I assume the #2 Corridor and fire roads? Beautiful area both north and south of Highway #2

Access to 4 main corridors right from town Tri-County corridor, Wild Rivers Trail, Soo Line Grade, Gandy to Nemadji State Forest You can leave in one direction and come back on a totally different trail system. If a person wanted to one could leave Superior and legally get to Milwaukee. But ya the only restricted area close by is the Chewaumegon National Forest. Forest roads only for the Fullsize. I've had a SxS for 4yrs now and I really have no problem getting anywhere i would like to go. During the winter we have a multi use trail a block away from my house can head to Minnestota, over to Upper Michigan or go south and head towards Eau Claire. and hundreds of miles of trails in between. If one wants to ride sand stay in northern Wisconsin or if you choose what we call Loon Shit we can get that on the Minnestoa side riding the trails in the boogs. Dont go there alone or you just may come out on foot and never find your machine again.

The protection was my main concern for that window. i could see tossing a piece of fire wood in the bed and it bouncing right through that Gold price tagged piece of glass. Or out ice fishing and backing into something and cracking the back end up. We have a lot of back bays around the area that hold some nice crappie holes but there not the most pleasant places to get to.

Nice work.

I need to learn how to weld. Great projects in mind, easy to fab, but I pay a guy to weld for me.

I really like your rear bumper, can you give more details?

The bumper it's self is made from a 4"x4" square tube 45* on the corners with the ends being cut back at an angle and capped off it is completely welded closed. It sticks out all around body plastics at 2 3/4". The gap filler is ran up past the piece of angle steel that is the factory rear bed support. And bolted in 4 of the factory holes for more support. It mount using the factory stamped holes for the OEM bumpers at the bed hinge hense why I also bolted it to the rear angle support. There is is 2x2" square tube coming off the back of the main bumper extended to the factory holes with a piece of square tube cut down a 1/2" to give it enough drop in the mount to sit level and keep the tailgate from boning and contacting the bumper. I didn't put it in a scale but I would guess around 50-60# easy maybe a little more it was a PITA trying to get it lined up for the bolts. Future plans for a on board compressor I have the pump just not the pluming yet. So it will come off one more time for leak test. Lol

You can. Watch a boat load of youtube videos, get yourself a mig welder and have at it. One of the biggest problems is fabricating the pieces to weld.:excitement::encouragement:
