Ive been following and participating in another thread on this subject but need some clarification please. I called the dealer and asked the service mgr who has been there 12 yrs about the air intake system and part 2205192. He said there are no reported problems with this system. When he looked the part up, he said it was for snow country not florida. Before i order the part can you clarify some things as it relates to my 2013...

First, there is air intake on both driver and passenger sides. Do they both feed the clutch?

Second, it is my understanding that the kit will satisfy the air supply needs of both sides, right?

Third, since i am not snorkeling, do you consider this mod important? Is dust the big reason or is it equally important for both dust and water protection?

Last, should and can i inspect the areas to see if water/dust is already in there and needs to be cleaned out? How do i inspect this area?

Thanks for the clarification.

The drivers side is motor intake

Passenger side is belt intake

This kit for me is less dust in both no water in both washing or trailering machine in rain. You can still get water in the belt threw the belt exhaust vent pipe.

First, there is air intake on both driver and passenger sides. Do they both feed the clutch? No. The drivers side is engine air intake. Passenger side is clutch intake.

Second, it is my understanding that the kit will satisfy the air supply needs of both sides, right? YES

Third, since i am not snorkeling, do you consider this mod important? Where I ride, dust is biggest issue. You may have different needs. Is dust the big reason or is it equally important for both dust and water protection? Both

Last, should and can i inspect the areas to see if water/dust is already in there and needs to be cleaned out? How do i inspect this area? For the engine intake, you can check the air filter box. For the clutch intake, remove the drain plug in clutch housing

Thanks for the clarification.
Or for a few bucks at home depot, you can make this. Auto part Vehicle Bumper Mid-size car Car

Most everything that has been stated is true.

But you only need one kit, it takes care of the engine intake and exhaust intake.
Look at the instructions that slim has provided.

This kit will help control dust going into the intakes both belt and clutch.

Neither the screens on the 13'/14' or he frog skin on the 15' is a good design. The intakes will ingest water and dust.
This kit will just about eliminate that from happening.

Extremely helpful, i am now crystal clear, thank you all. I will order the kit. Greg, thx for clarifying, i thought i had read somewhere that one kit does both sides bit wasnt certain.

I guess technically, the drivers side engine air intake is passing thru the air filter first so that one may be less critical, right? Although i guess water is still an issue on both sides

Cool, I plan on using my new 2019 Ranger XP 900 for ice fishing and really don't want to be clogging up the intakes as it sounds like real issue without this kit.

New to the forums, thx for the prompt feedback/reply!

I did up date mine and extended it up with vacuum cleaner hose and a coupling from HD now I can wash out filter material without taking that back seat off.

I was the thread starter back in 2015. Ended up buying the kit and the unopened box still sits in my garage. I never even opened the box. I should install it but never got around it it.
