Just curious as to the differences between (if any) of the following oil filters:


· POLARIS 2520799
· POLARIS 2540086
· POLARIS 3084963 (packaged in oil change kit)
· POLARIS 3089996
I still have the original filter. No PN on it, just Subaru 018

From another site:

2540086 is shorter @ 2.5"ish

2520799 is longer @ 3.25"ish

Same ID,OD & thread just shorter, so yes you could use it....Just not as much filtering media......

From another chart (posted elsewhere in PRC) most oil filter manufacturers just cover them w/ 1 filter.[HR][/HR]

I use the same filter on my truck that is on the Ranger. It's rated for 15,000 miles so I'm not too worried about size. But if I was in a position to use two different filters I would go with bigger.

3084963 is an old part number replaced by 2520799 according to Polaris.
3084963 CANNOT be used to replace 2520799.

I checked the contents of the current oil change kit today & the filter now is the 2520799.
