Just wondering if anyone has added wipers to their Rangers. Pure Polaris ones look pricey to me but I'd like to have them after riding in the rain all weekend...

I put the rangerware ones on mine and love them.
I bought some hand operated ones for my father-in-law from J C Whittney because he didnt want anything fancy and they work good as well.
Just depends how much $ you want to spend.

Mike, have you used this wiper kit on ebay on your Ranger? Going to order me one if you say it works alright.

No, I have not used this wiper. I saw it on ebay and plan to order it when I build my hard top, probably later this year. Good luck, Mike

I have the rangerware wipers, but in some of the old posts. Somebody, I believe Bill found a manual set up from J C Whitney and installed it.

If you have a glass windsheild, get the wipers. It is worth every penny.I bought pure polaris wipers on ebay for a fraction of the dealer cost and they work great.

Guys if you dont have a glass windshield I strongly suggest not to put a wiper on it. Your better off using Rain X on lexan. My logging equipment has lexan windshields with wipers and I pulled all the wipers off.
Using a wiper when theres mud, grit and dust on the lexan is like taking sandpaper to it . It wont last no time.

JC Whitney in the jeep section has several options that work great. I have a set on my Ranger and they have been excellent.

Makrolon Ar2 is better than lexanpolycarbonate . It is harder & more scratch resistant

Peanut,
Have you installed a wiper on your new windshield? Even with Makrolon AR, I don't think they suggest using a squeegee on it. Just curious. I would like to add a wiper also, but I don't want to ruin my windshield.

Thanx, Brian

I have the Polaris wipers on my Ranger....they work well(Glass WWindshield). The only thing I don't like about them is, they have a non-standard mount to the wiper arms. They have a welded-on round thing on the arms, and aftermarket wiper blades won't install.I'm looking for a work-around,may have to take arms off and re-work the arms (weld on some auto-type arm ends).

What really stinks is I bought the heater....which dosen't get used much, since the heat from the radiator fan blows in under the dash...and there's no DEFROSTER!

So I'm gonna use some CPVC tubing and 12 volt "Squirrel cage" small computer fans, to get the heat to the windshield.

I'll do that as soon as summer get's here...LOL

a wiper on any non glass windshield will destroy it.

This windshield is also polycarbonate, and they claim it won't scratch. I assume all coatings that are applied to Poly are baked on. I wonder what makes this one different. BTW, I can't recall the last time I've seen a wiper in Nascar.
