Nearly all of Polaris' switching is done through the ground. Not sure why they chose that method, but I have yet to see anything on a Polaris machine that was done differently.

thanks for confirming,as dave with the diesel said he hooked into the power wire from awd switch with separate switch to activate the rear diff solenoid.so if I put in a separate switch should I only have to ground out the white green wire through this switch?QUOTE=commanderjjones;512275]Nearly all of Polaris' switching is done through the ground. Dave is right about the diesel (2011-12). The AWD switch provides +12v to the front diff coil when in AWD mode. The ground for that coil comes from the instrument cluster. The AWD switch also provides +12v to the VCM when in turf mode, and the VCM sends the control signal to the turf solenoid driver.

I went to polaris dealer today and got wiring diagram for my awd switch, but it doesn't match the way my switch is wired, the ground and power are exactly opposite as to diagram, but I know my system is working,so don't know what to think

I wanted to confirm my switch was grounding out the rear diff with my dealer so they printed out the wireing diagram for my machine and it says my switch should send power to the diff.but I don't have any continuity between my power and other wires, the only continuity is between the ground and othe wires, talked to another polaris dealership and they don'tknow why mine is wired different,i took a chance and grounded the white and green wire and it activated the rear solenoid so maybe that's the answer.i
