I read someplace on here about hooking up a back up light to the wires under the bed on the drivers side. when i tested the red with white stripe wires (2) they had power to ground in neutral and reverse, the black with white stripe never had power.

Hummm... the red wire should have power in all gears. The black is ground and is switched by ECM only in reverse although on some of the newer models, there is residual voltage all the time.

Oooooohhhh ok..... Yeah I just checked to ground... Didn't realize the ground was "switched"
