I have a 2014 Ranger 900 browning edition and am attempting to hook up LED backup lights. I have read many treads but have not found any helpful information for me. I want the lights to be activated when in reverse only. I have the 2 wires near the throttle body that people say are there to add a backup alarm but when testing them I find that one is hot when key is on and the ground wire is always grounded whether in reverse or any other gear. I am trying to find a signal wire that is activated when in reverse that I can use with a relay, it can be a ground or hot wire. any information will be helpful.

I used the 2 wires you mentioned along with a relay and it works fine. Mine is only grounded in reverse though. I had to use a relay, because it was still lighting up the LED's very dim even when not in reverse.
