Greetings all, just purchased a 2023 Ranger 1000 Crew Premium and have a question about the Battery Trickle Charging Outlet. Can this be used as a power port to power a sprayer? I can't think of a reason why it couldn't be, but figured I would post the question and see if anyone knows for sure. The salesman said he thought it could, but want to be sure.

Thanks!

I think so. I used that type of connector to power a seed broadcaster. As long as the wire is large enough to carry the amps for it, it should be fine.

I installed a port for my trickle charger and sprayer: Aux power to bed - can be used for trickle charger

Polaris has followed up with their own version with a recessed power port: 12V Cargo Bed Power Kit | Polaris RANGER

Their port is switched at the panel and fused.

I use a remote controlled switch that has a removable unit that goes in line at the bed plug: https://www.amazon.com/Fimco-7771938-Wireless-Convenient-Collapsable/dp/B00FGYK50A/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3EFIRGCMBTRBJ&keywords=12v+remote+switch+on/off&qid=1681212582&sprefix=12v+remote+switch,aps,178&sr=8-5

I found that trying to steer/use a hand wand/turn and use a panel switch was awkward and handling a remote switch was easier.

My port is wired directly to the battery and starts with a short fused pigtail: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZNQY463/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1. I used SAE extensions to reach to behind the tail light where the the plug is installed.
