When I changed the drive belt, I noticed the belt was rubbing on the clutch cover next to the air outlet hose fitting. I contributed this to a worn belt. After installing an OEM belt, the noise returned but only when the transmission is in neutral, which I assume, is the belt once again rubbing on the housing. Any suggestions as to why the belt is rubbing on the clutch cover.

check moter mounts?
Checked motor mounts and inner cover - all is fine. There is a clicking noise coming from the primary clutch - - is this normal? The noise has been there for a long time and it doesn't seem to have an adverse impact on my power and I don't smell the belt getting hot.

I installed a new belt and it makes the same noise it was making with the old belt. The noise goes away at higher RPM - I only notice it at idle, regardless of gear to include neutral.

Is it a click or more of a clinking.....metal to metal? Being its an 09 and depending on miles.....the clutch weights can get sloppy on the pins and let them make contact with the spider. Eventually ruining the clutch. Better to catch it early on before it happens.

The machine only has 6800 miles on it.

The dealership installed a Team Rapid Reaction 240304 driven (secondary) clutch about 2,500 miles ago. There is a little play (+/- 1/16”) in and out movement – is this normal?

Running the engine with the clutch/belt cover off, I could not identify specially where the noise was coming from but if I had to guess, it is the primary clutch. I cannot see or feel anything loose on or in either clutch.

I took a hose to the clutches and inner cover to wash out all the dust and then completely dried everything before starting it again. The noise has somewhat lessened and sometimes I cannot hear it at all.

This is very frustrating and I am toying with buying an EPI rebuild kit and associated tools to rebuild the primary clutch.

When I purchase an EPI clutch kit, does the kit have parts and pieces to rebuild both clutches?
No. Unless it is something new, I'm not aware that EPI offers a rebuild kit. Their clutch kit (depending on which one you get) will typically include a new primary spring and weights......some kits will include a secondary spring and helix.
