Looking for a complete winch setup for ranger 900 xp. Anyone have any leads on good 4500 lb winch with synthetic rope?

Something that has all the wiring and mounting plate. Also looking for advice on install either out front or set into the ranger.

Thanks

I went with the KFI Stealth synthetic rope 4500... Comes with everything but the mounting plate, which is sold separately, so I did buy that as well. I installed mine, and installed it behind the grill.....

About the only way you'll get a 'complete" package is to go with the Polaris winch--which is really overpriced!

The same winch motors are used on many different ATVs and UTVs so it really isn't too practical for vendors to provide a complete 'plug-n-play' kit for each model of every rig on the market, hence, you have to order a separate mounting plate. You have a decision to make before ordering whichever winch you decide on--behind the grill or on top of the front bumper (will ignore rear mounted for now). If you decide on top of the bumper setup, you'll have order/install a bumper that is designed for it. The bumper mounted winches are nice in that they are much more accessible. The only down sides are that they should be covered to protect the rope from UV. Not a big deal since a lot of the kits will come with a cover, Other down sides are they will add a few inches to length of your machine and, of course, the cost of the bumper.

Wiring the winch could be an issue depending on which model you order. All of them will come the required wiring and contactor (relay) but you may have to get creative depending on how you wire it--some have cables that may be too short, others too long. Also, you may want to consider the dash switch that is included with the winch. You may want to order a separate switch from some place like OTRATTW to get one that matches your existing switches (inexpensive). Some include a remote control module and key fob remote, others include a wired-remote switch or a handle bar switch, or some combination of the three.
