Hi I have a 2015 white lighting 900 xp ranger. Most of the time it starts up fine. When it was brand new (less than 25 hours) it would turn over fine Mabye Fire once or twice I would realese the key then it would die. Try to start it again and it fires right up or does the same thing again. it always started within the 3d try . Well I figured it was just because it was new and not broke in yet. Well it stoped doing it for awhile until now. It has 42 hrs on it now and is starting to do the same thing. I figured I was not letting the fuel pump prime enough. So from then on I made sure and let the speedometer completely come on before I started it . Well that helped a little but this time it turned over felt like it started so I released the key it ran but at very low rpm (like barely running) for a about 10 sec then died another time it did this I hit the gas and it kinda went down then took off thanks for All the help guys

Thanks guys I appreciate it. That does make sense commander because I just fueled it up a few days ago with non ethanol gas and it just started acting up. Should I put a additive in the gas? If so what kind? I've been using non ethanol every time I can find it. Thanks again

Non-ethanol fuels would be the preferred choice for small engine. You "may" have gotten fuel contaminated with water and thus need to get all of it out and start over with fresh fuel. You might remove the fuel pump and just shine with a flashlight down in the tank and see if water is obviously present in the tank, a relatively simple approach.

Couldn't you add some sea foam to your fuel to help it should help the water issue I would think

I don't think it's a fuel problem, with fuel injection it will run on all sorts of fuel and all grades as long as your fuel injector is not clogged, or not calculated correctly. I do use StaBil and SeaFoam, but haven't added fuel since I got my 2014 570 crew and it starts and runs fine. A long time motorcycle rider and I can tell you I will never own another bike, or any vehicle that is not fuel injected, todays fuel sucks.

That depends on how much water is in it. Additives aren't made to remove excessive amounts. The suggestion about looking in the tank with a flashlight is a good one. Unfortunately, that might require removing the head where the pickup and sending unit comes out the top.

Thanks again guys. It hasn't don't it again in a few days I use it every day. I might add some sea foam and Mabye try a higher octane non ethanol gas next fuel up? I only had 2 bars of fuel on my speedometer and I loaded up on the trailer and took it to a gas station. I figured it would at least take 7 or 8 gal. It only took 3 gal then the pump stopped. I finally got 6.6 gal in it but it took forever I would fill it to the top then shake the ranger from side to side then it would go down then I would repeat. I dont know it that has anything to do with it being hard to start or not. Took me a good 20 min to fill it up
