Hello All,

I'm rebuilding the transmission on my 2010 Ranger 6x6 with the 800 engine. I have two gears that are chipped and need to be replaced. Looking off my OEM shop manual or any online retailer of OEM parts exploded view, the gears I need are the mid output 47T and the mid output 60T gears. They do not give part numbers or prices because they don't sell them, however they are shown in their exploded views. I've called the dealer and haven't heard back yet. I looked up a 2012 model in a 6x6 800 version and the gears look the same in the exploded view and I am able to order them however I cannot verify that they are actutally the correct parts. If anyone can verify they are the same that would let me order the parts new, or if they could direct me to a used set that would be ok also.

Any help greatly appreciated!

This does not specifically answer your question.

Polaris part# 3234138 47T apprx $160
Polaris part# 3234139 60T apprx $175

These two gears are shown for the 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011-2015.
I did not run all of the numbers, but I would think they will work. But if your dealer can get some clarification that would be better.
My guess is that polaris was going to catalog an assembly that included the gears, and never went back and changed the 2010 parts list, when they changed their mind.

I looked up the part numbers to confirm what Greg listed above. Although it skips '06, '07 and '10, it is listed as being used in the '04, '05, '08, '09, '11, '12, '13, '14, and '15 6x6. I bet money it is the same part for the '06, '07 and '10 as well. Not sure why it isn't listed, but probably just an oversight.

Based on what I found, I'd have a reasonable comfort level with ordering those parts.

Jerry, my thoughts exactly.
I can not see Polaris using those same gears before 2010 and after, and them being different for 1 year.

there are mistakes in polaris's parts schematics if you look long enough. I agree with you guys, more than likely the same parts. don't think polaris would change the gear styles for just a couple model years and then go back to the older version.

I've had to do the same thing in the past when ordering shift dogs. For several year models, Polaris didn't list them separately, but only as part of a $500 gear cluster. I went back to earlier parts fiches and found them listed separately. Had no way to be certain that they were the same other than a reasonable suspicion, but they worked for me on 4 different occasions.

Adam, you are correct, there are mistakes in the schematics, and I have been looking at them for a while.
I almost never take the first part number that comes up, I will usually cross reference the cross reference.

I have made a few mistakes on part numbers in my posts, but I try and make sure I am giving accurate information.

How badly are the teeth chipped? Gears can have the teeth repaired. A decent welder can fix them by building up w/ welding or brazing rod then file back to the proper profile.
