I bought a nice set of used canvas doors for my 900 last fall. Now the Velcro on the bottom of the doors are not sticking anymore. I seen from earlier posts that a guy took his doors to a uphostery shop to put in better velcro, and that took care of the problem. So this morning I called our local uphostery shop, and he said that he has seen this before, and what he did was add snaps to the location where it is not sticking. Has anyone else done this, and if so did it work. I was also thinking of putting a bead of gorilla glue on the bottom where the velcro is loose instead of the snaps. What do you all think?

Marty you might be on to some thing here. I did report a while back about taking my doors to a auto upholstery shop where they sewed in a more commercial velcro . It worked for a while, but it too hasn't held up very well. For one thing Polaris's supplier short changed us on material and quality of velcro used. It way too short in a lot of places and eventually breaks loose from being stretched too tight. If some one comes up with a better fix I would love to hear about it.

Today I went to Menards to get some glue for the doors. I asked one of workers there which glue I should use after I explained my problem, and he recommended high strength shoe glue in a red tube. When I got home I applied a bead of glue on the bottom strip of velcro of the door and put C-clamps on both ends. Let it dry for the afternoon, and this evening I checked on it, and it seems to be sticking very good. It dried clear, and hoping it stays together.

Ditto on what Mike said Text Font Icon Smile
I'm usually a stickler for using the proper adhesive for a particular application, but when there is a question about what to use, I break out the Shoe Goo Red--my new go-to glue! Oh yeah, works good on shoes too! Who'd of thunk it :welcoming:

Just checked the velcro this morning as I drove my ranger to work, and yeah that glue worked great. I don't think that is going to separate anytime soon.

Yeah Polaris should've put zippers instead of velcro.

IMO, The zippers will end up just as the snaps, it is not a good choice for this application.
I still like Marty's suggestion on the magnets.
