Always loosen the fill plugs first, just to make sure you can.:excitement::encouragement:

The rear is easy to remove just watch the front diff drain plug I stripped mine last week and the replacement cost 45.00 from fix my toys...

Alloutdoors hit it on the head, I'm a big craftsman fan and have a small (ok maybe bigger then that) fortune in tools but when it came time to get the allen sockets just couldn't find what I thought look good, for once I'll admit you need Mac or Snap-on maybe SK if you can find them anymore, while your at it get a set of torques to.

I'm a believer of not using a ball end allen head socket to remove these plugs. A strait allen type gives you more contact area inside the plug which helps keep it from stripping.

I always give mine a hit with a punch and hammer to help it break free before I crank on it. hasn't failed me yet!
