Most of the time when I engage my Ranger all the way into 4 wheel it makes it hard to steer. The steering wheel even whats to straighten itself out on a hard turn. Tell me this can't be normal for a Ranger with only 60 hours.[:(!]

It does make it a little harder to steer. It makes sense that it wants to straighten itself out in hard turns, the front wheels are trying to pull themselves straight.

When you lock wheels in AWD all 4 wheels are pulling when they start to sense a slip and when you go into a turn the outside wheels are trying to turn faster than the inside causing them to slid and thats telling the the Ranger to lock in AWD, which does as Curt said trys to straighten iut the steering.
