So I ordered a set of Dalton Clutch Springs from Todd at Hunterworks for $85 shipped. First of all I would like to inform yall I talked to Todd on several occasions about what exactly the kit does and what is included. Todd was A+ to deal with, I contacted him via email and usually within minutes, I had an email with the information I messaged him about. So as far as Im concerned, customer service at Hunterworks is above and beyond!!! Now for the Dalton kit, it came with three springs, one for the secondary and two for the primary. The primary springs were different as to pretty much classified as a low end spring or a sport spring. Being I have heavy tires, I chose the low end Orange spring. I left the primary on the sxs and installed the spring and then installed the secondary spring. In about an hour, I had the old out and the new in. No Polaris specialty tools used. I have a noticeably better bottom end response. I ride in High a lot of the time, and this kit def made my Ranger more lively. Low gear now seems super low, great for pulling Can-Am's out of holes. I haven't trail rode it yet, but can def see it will be easier on the sxs.

I wished it worked on the 2013 models.

Thanks for your comments about me and Hunterworks. I do try and answer emails fast during work hours

Glad you like the kit. It is still our opinion, a full on clutch kit with weights etc does not do any better than just these springs. Dalton tried hard to do a full on kit and said he could not make the Ranger 900 any better no matter what with a weight change due to low being too low and high being too high, just could not clutch it out.

Thanks for the review, always helps to have real world opinions. I'm going to see how these 31" Outback Maxes do when mine gets back from surgery and I may be ordering a kit as well.

Any opinions if you could gain "a noticeably better bottom end response" using the stock pxt's on the 900?

Thinking of doing the Dalton kit and have watched some videos on changing springs .I think I should be able to do the primary without pulling the clutch but wondering will I need a clutch compressor to get the snap ring off and on the secondary ?

Thanks Ron

No snap ring on your secondary unless your model has the EBS secondary clutch.

You can do the primary spring with primary on vehicle and probably can do secondary without compressor

Can you use the Dalton springs on a EBS model? I have a 2014 Browning and it has EBS

I hate to kind of hijack this thread, but I have questions!
I own a 2014 Polaris Ranger Midsize 800 EFI.
I live in central Idaho at 5,000 feet, and most of my riding is from here up to 10,000 feet.
I run the Sedona Ripsaw tires and usually carry around 250 pounds of gear plus my large posterior, ,(260) pounds.
What kit or parts would I need to make the Ranger have more low end power at say, 6,000 feet and up to 10,000 feet?

How hard is it to swap the secondary spring without a compressor? (No EBS)
