I have more time than $, and making something useful out of parts on hand is irresistible. As a disclaimer, if you don't like it, don't try it, DIY is highly individual. It all started when I was in NAPA, and saw amber lights that I thought would fit behind grill openings, not a total wild guess, occasionally I do measure things. Then I saw small red lites, perfect for rear turns. (Rear parks are in factory lights already)
I knew from previous experience that a 550 flasher would be needed. I had been rummaging through "stuff" in my parts bins, and had an old jeep Signal Stat 900 turn assembly, flat four wiring and connectors, a junction block , very close to factory one already on Ranger, wiring loom, tie wraps, an illuminated toggle swtich, in line fuse holder.
I do have pix and part #s, hopefully can get them from tablet to here.
I wired rear turns (green rite turn, yellow, left , brown for ground to match factory ground color) .These wires run parallel to, separate loom , along factory harness. When I removed floor section, imagine my surprise when I saw winch wiring, shift cable perilously close to drive shaft u joint. Rerouted, securely tie wrapped , happiness is discovering before "incident"
These came up to junction block I installed just below factory junction block, drivers side.
Front turns ditto, Park used Brown wire, White ground to factory ground on junction block. Used Flat Four connectors for front lights, so hood can be easily removed .
Picked up hot from factory junction (always hot for turns, for 4 ways no key) Park can be either, as goes to Toggle to give front Parks as stand alone without rear lights.
The Signal Stat 900 has more wires than I needed, simply cut and taped to simplify.
I mounted unit directly to plastic housing by through drilling for two 3/16 fasteners, you can reach into cavity to secure washers, nuts. The 2 top fasteners are sheet metal screws, the plastic is thick ,
Harness runs through dash, grommet and clip for neatness. Hook wires to junction block, for turns, park front, in line fuse for power to flasher 3 prong unit.
Have all pix, but won't "drag and drop". Consider this like listening to the radio. No visuals.
