Does the sport roof come with a headliner now?

New Ranger owner here. While I was researching the new models on the Polaris website, I was offered a coupon for $250 in free accessories at time of purchase. Sweet! So when I bought the machine, I decided to cash it in on the $300 Sport Roof. The dealer didn't have any in stock so they ordered for me. It came in today and my wife picked it up and brought it home. I opened the box and pulled out the Pro-Fit Roof, AND a headliner. :encouragement:

Is this the way the sport roofs come now, or did I just get lucky?

You got lucky!
We also had a member get the sliding rear window, it was in the standard window box ( if I remember correctly).
Just went out and checked the part number on the box. It's 2878851, so it looks like distribution sent the Premium Roof by mistake and the dealer didn't catch it. They must have a parts picker who needs glasses.

Not sure if I should send it back or not. The purchase experience with this dealership was not good at all. I was fairly satisfied with the final price, but getting there was really painful. Now I feel like I just got another $200 off the price of the Ranger. :encouragement:

I should buy a lotto ticket...
I would say keep it the dealers make money on u no matter what the grand total is
True, Polaris isn't going broke anytime soon. I have a hard enough time getting a decent night's sleep so I would point out the error - at a time when I could afford to make up the difference. There's a chance all party's will say just forget it and enjoy, but if it were my business and I screwed up, I would hope my customers would step up!
Call the dealer. Chances are, they'll tell you to keep it.:glee::encouragement:
Y'all are absolutely right. I just called them to let them know. They didn't say much besides "thanks for letting us know", and "we'll try to figure out how we screwed up". Not sure if I'll hear back from them, but if they want it back, they'll have to come get it and bring the right one with them. Not gonna drive an hour each way for their mistake...

Most MFR's will substitute a better item when the ordered part is not in stock. I wouldn't worry about it.

Exactly correct. enjoy the premium roof.
I enjoyed it for a little while! The last time I trailered my machine, the headliner blew loose from the roof... I was lucky not to lose it. It's kind of an odd design really. The headliner is made of a thick felt material that just tucks in to channels around the edge, and secured in the middle with only two plastic pushpins. There's a spot for an LED dome light that also has holes for two small screws & washers. I don't have the light, but I put the screws in anyway. Good thing I did, because that's all that was holding the thing on after the two plastic plugs pulled through the headliner. I haven't even bothered putting it back on.
