It's very odd for that to happen, so unless you have an unusual case of a defective bearing, I would speculate that there are several other components that are very worn.
How many hours are on it and has the fluid been changed regularly?

That's not very many hours and a tranny will usually last much longer with regular fluid changes unless it has seen some really heavy hauling.
You essentially have three options.........rebuild, replace with a new one (about $1500 last time I priced one), or buy a used one off of eBay for $300 to $400. I have tranny rebuild videos in the video how to section that will help guide you through the rebuild process.
