The engine seems to idle rough and sometimes just quit running. Tonight I was spraying my yard and about 30 minutes into it, the Ranger started to run rough. Even in low range with about 1/4 throttle, I could hear it missing. When I come to an idle, it will either continur to idle rough, or just quit running. ANY IDEAS.

Check your plug wires. Sometimes the boots come loose. Also it could be a broken injector wire, the seat crushes them.

I wonder why it seems to do it after the engine is good and hot? I moved the TPS wire back and forth, and that seemed to make it come and go too.

Check for water in the gas, that'll make it do what you're talking about. I had the coil wet and it didn't run bad till it got hot also.

Bad TPS or TPS wire.

Kent, Did you get your problem corrected? If not, does all of your electrical stuff work when your machine starts to run rough? My problem was similar to yours when it began, but progressively got worse. I have questions posted on the forum now looking for answers to solve my problem.

If it comes and goes when you move it then the injector wire is probably the problem. It might not be a heat issue, just a seat issue. The seat is probably bouncing on the wires and seperating it.
