Am new to Rangers - 2013 Ranger Crew 800 - when idling it seems that there is a vibration that causes a contant noise from the dump bed - when taking off it disappears as the motor revs. Am wondering if my clutch could be causing it. I just changed out the belt to a new one - cleaned the clutch surfaces with scotch bright, dried off, then wiped down with proper Alcohol as well as the belt and install. Runs out better but still have the vibration.

Could it be bad motor mounts? (only 201 hours) Bushings on the hinge of the dump bed?

I am at a loss - very annoying thumping at idle. I will look into posting a video to youtube so you can see and hear what I am talking about.

Am open to any and all suggestions as I want to hunt this down and get rid of it!!

Thanks!

Very common to get sounds coming from the dump bed. Several different fixes for it; build up the latches with rubber or plastic, put rubber bumpers between the bed and frame are a couple.

It's difficult to be a fair judge if this is "normal" without actually feeling it.

If it's not normal, my first thought would be that possibly the clutch is out of balance or it has a bad belt (which you have already ruled out). Since you mentioned you are new and the machine is a 2013, I assume you bought it used? Do you know if any repairs or mod's have ever been done to the clutch? The reason I ask is that if someone has installed a clutch kit (or simply had the primary clutch apart) and didn't mark the halves to get them back in time, the primary will be out of balance and can very well cause what you're describing. Unfortunately, that will be difficult to diagnose and repair because I don't know of anyone that can test it to determine if that's truly the problem. That might be a good question for Marty at Hunterworks. Maybe he has a way to balance them, or knows somebody that does.
