Fluid coming out of rear differential vent hose?

Hi guys,
I just came back from a long trip and noticed fluid on the right side rear (passenger) cv boot. I traced the fluid up to the clear vent hose that is directly above the cv boot. I changed the fluid and it looked fine, and I thought the problem was I added to much fluid at the 100 hr service. The manual says 40.6 ounces of fluid, yet my machine only takes about 32 before it starts flowing out, so I jacked it up and added a few more ounces. When I changed it a few days ago I thought that had to be the problem.....wrong! I filled it up to the level point (about 32-33 ounces) and then went for a ride. After climbing a few thousand feet in elevation with 200 pounds in the bed, I got out and noticed it is dripping fluid on the boot and a arms again? Any ideas from your experts? The worthless dealer told me I had a cracked head, but the machine purrs like a kitten and everything runs perfect. Any ideas that you have I would appreciate, I have owned 4 rangers and this is the only time I have ever seen this.

Thanks very much for your time guys,
JP

My midsize did that too. It was brand new 10 hours on it when I traded it back in. Dealer told me it was normal. Somehow I donw believe that. Its a vent not a drain.

"Dealer told me it was normal" ..........................So sad......How could anyone with at least a room temperature IQ, state that transmission fluid leaking out of a near new UTV that cost UMPTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.................is normal ? :hypnotysed:

Lol.. cracked a head! It's been a pretty common issue from what I've read ... I know others will chime in

I used to overfill the tranny on my '06 XP by about 4 ounces to help quieten it down some. Mine would puke a little out the vent tube but only on extended high speed runs........and only a little. If it was only a little and you had been running it hard for a while, I wouldn't be overly concerned. Try re-routing the vent tube up higher.
