Yes I was calling on it in reverse. Anyone have a better fix other than an oem replacement? I see where Polaris changed the part number from ****104 to ****285. Wonder if there was a "fix"?

Pricey but you won't have any more problems, on my wish list.
I wish that were true but I have his complete billet diff and I still broke something in it. Pretty sure it was the sprague which was also supposed to be a billet one from him. Don't count on him answering emails or PMs either, best to call him. I have sent him emails and messages for a quote on another unit for a spare but he has not responded. I the meantime I ordered this new complete sprague from eBay. It looks better than anything I have seen thus far.

mine was just over $1600 but I got the billet side cover which really does nothing to make it any better. Call him he will tell you your different options.

I thought the billet side plates were "supposed" to decrease flexing?

I called him this am, and got sticker shock for the case without internals. The internals in mine are toast. A friend of mine got me a pretty good price for a oem one, $818.00 plus tax. Cheapest I have found one online is around $1150 shipped. Maybe I can get another 1500 miles out of another one? Still wondering about the part number changes and if they improved them any?

The side plate does nothing for strengthening the case. The billet case doesn't need any help.

Mine started each time with a loud pop then when the front end needed to pull after the first pop there would be more pops and then no pulling. Driving afterward sounds REALLY bad, sounds so bad anyone anywhere near will be looking and wondering why you are still driving the thing, lol. Removing the front driveshaft ends the racket. If the sprague is cracked the front end will not pull much at all before making poping sounds and very little of that and the sprague then explodes and you have zero pulling from the front and just a terrible racket that sounds like gold coins being run through a grinder:grief:

I didn't say, or was I implying, that it was supposed to do anything for the case, I was talking about the side plates and how the billet side plate was "supposed" to decrease "side plate flexing" according to booger toxic.

Oh ok. Funny he said that you because what I got from him was that they didn't not give much benefit, more bling than anything..

Gotcha....he told me that was one of the downfall of the diffs, the weak stock side plates that allowed a "bulging" effect under loads, creating internal tolerance problems which could induce failure.
Unless I completely misunderstood what he was saying? Hah! who knows?

If you really want a bulletproof front end and have some good fab skills... put in a rzr 1000 front diff. You'll need to shorten the drive shaft and fab a different bottom plate to bolt it to!

Yeah but they seem to be breaking the 1000 diffs pretty regular too.
