Front diff swap?

n looking for a used front diff for my 2010 800 HD and followed a lead from my earlier post that ended in a great conversation with the owner of a big ATV salvage yard. I have access to a Sportsman 800 that was built in october of 2006. The owner of this machine is it's second owner and he isn't sure if it is an 06 or 07 model, But the guy at the salvage yard tells me that it should be an 07 and that the engine and front diff are straight across swap outs for the ones in my 2010 Ranger. I'm hoping someone can give even more insight to this before I buy a sportsman with a broken frame.
