I'm having some trouble troubleshooting my front diff on my 08 ranger 700xp. I'm starting a new thread on this topic and wanted to see what everyone thinks. So far i have replaced the all the bearing, oil seals, roller cage(with an aluminium one). I'm getting 12 volts from the switch the the diff, and the coil on the diff is reading 26.2 ohms. I refilled the diff with new oil and installed back into the ranger. Still no four wheel drive. I removed the diff again and took it apart. the only thing i can think of right now is the new springs in the roller cage are to tight and are not allowing the roller to rotate and engage. Has anyone ever had a problem like this?? I have emailed the manufacturer to see if the have had this issue before but no responses yet. Let me know what y'all think

thanks

I had to put this project off for a while but about to dive back into it. I'm getting 12v off one side of the plug to the negative side of the battery but nothing across the lines of the plug. I'm also now not getting any voltage to my radiator fan. Is there anything type of fuse tying the front diff and the fan together?? I checked the wires the best I could, but didn't see any cuts or burn areas.

The fan portion of your dilemma could be the 20 amp relay which go bad quite frequently or the fuse of course or the fan motor itself could be bad especially if the mo rons were plowing water with it. I would also be double checking the motor to chassis ground and the ground going back from the plug to the ECU. That starter diode will only show continuity in one direction as it's purpose is to keep the guys that hook up jumper cables the wrong way from frying up the Ranger.

The picture above is the 20 amp fan relay. Look for the big lump in the wire harness under the hood wrapped in black tape. You can take it to NAPA and match it up for about six bucks
