I just checked the center to center of tire measurement on my 07 Ranger . In the front I had 50 inches but after rolling it back and checking the rear marks I had 51 1/4 inches. After checking center of tire in front to center of vehicle each side was 25 inches for total of 50 inches on the front. What will this do to the tires driving on packed dirt and coral with this extreme toe in ? No hard surface driving. How could it get so extreme from factory set up ? Tie rod ends are rust froze solid. Any suggestions ? TIA

It will make the front tires wear funny on the outside edges. More importantly it will make the steering too responsive. At high speed that would be dangerous. Honestly the factory is not that great at setting up the toe on these machines.

Yes my 2014 midsize was off by 5/8" and I set it at 1/8" and its great now. Quality sure is 80's fore sure on these machines in the 2014 years. Makes me think of the cars & trucks from the 80's, poor at best. My TPS was so far off there is no excuse for this, my front diff. had 4.0 and required 10.1 oz my rear was 1qt over. :mad-new:

I'm not sure that I would move it when checking the alignment unless you're absolutely sure that you have no worn suspension components (A-arm bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, etc...). Of course, attempting to set the toe with any of those parts that are worn will be futile anyway.

Thanks Curt/redvett and Jerry ......... Wheel bearings/balljoints etc. all good. So I soaked tie rod ends in CORROSION X and wire brushed the threads and after a almost hernia causing effort, got the ends loose. From a 1-1/4" toe in, I now have 3/16" toe out on the front end. In case anyone is interested for use later, just unbolting the tie rod end and turning it over one time, will make 1/8" difference in the toe either toe in or toe out, obviously depending on which way it is turned. Keep in mind they are REVERSE THREADED..........I am betting at least half of the Rangers out there have the way wrong toe from the factory.......in the end, I can't really tell the difference in the handling, I just hope I have eliminated any possible premature tire wear on the new KENDA BEARCLAW HTR's. Thanks again !
