I picked up my RZR yesterday and so far, I have about 2 1/2 hours on it. What a Hoot!!!

I'm trying my best to adhere to the 25 hour break-in period and I am modestly, taking it easy. I must say though, it is hard to restrain this machine. As it jsut want's to hammer and fly.

I have noticed though when changing from neutral to a forward gear, the gears will grind. I will then have to place it back in Park and then cycle to the drive gear I want. I suspect there is some adjustment that may need done and or, the break-in of the transmission.

I'll keep you guys posted with the machines progress and will try to post some pictures in next day or so.

p.s: This RZR is so much fun, I think I'm gonna sell my 2006 700 XP.

I've been thinking and doing some research regarding the "grinding" issue. I believe I have been "Babying" it too much when I shift gears. And I need to be a bit more direct when I do so.

I will post more on it when I get some more hours on it tomorrow.

Chris,
Don't know if it's possible or not, but slowing down the idle speed on a Ranger cures engagment noise and grinding, might be the same on your RZR.

mine would grind also when shifting, my solution was to be more firm with changes and be sure you are stopped

That's always with a CVT system, shifting on the fly and/or when giving it gas will trash your trans fast.

Thanks guys. I always make sure them rpm's are at idle and the vehicle is motionless before I switch gears. I too have experienced it with other Polaris' I own and have owned.

Today, I started making the shift a little more direct and it seems to have worked. Guess I thought the RZR would be a little different shifting than my "06 700xp.
