I got in a fight with my neighbor last night about when and when not to drive in H or L. Looking for the correct answer to resolve the argument.

If you are not regularly exceeding 15 to 20 mph stay in low...

If you are carrying/towing any weight stay in low...

If you are in any terrain other than relatively flat and dry stay in low...

Depends on how "in touch" you are with driving a CVT drive. Low is safe until you have that feel. Running much larger tires without clutching changes in low is similar to running in high with stock tires, If you lug the engine you can slip/smoke your belt.
