While I was out riding this weekend my cooling fan failed to come at 204°like normal and the engine temp got to 218° before I noticed it I shut it down and let it cool for a few minutes then started it back up and the fan functioned fine the rest of the day this is thie second time it has happend first time it was only 2 months old I took it in to the dealer and they said they coulndnt duplicare the problem so essentialy nothings wrong most likley an air pocket dont worry and it was fine til now, I was thinking it may be the thermal breaker tripping if so is there a way to stop this from happening again?i bought it new feb 2014 it now has 80hrs and 500 miles if that helps with dianosis it has only happed twice in a year thanks for any help

Yeap, it's probably the self-resetting breaker and I've seen a lot of them fail. Problem is they often don't fail completely and will trip when it gets hot, then reset itself when it cools down, making it difficult to diagnose.

Don't pay $50 for the Polaris version.......go to the auto parts store and get a better one for less than half the price.

Kevin, I would change the breaker and then make sure you purge the cooling system of any air.

That looks like it, Kevin! WagZ, look for a lump in you fan harness, usually covered with a wad of electrical tape. On the older models, the lump will often have corrosion seeping out of it!

Can you please post a part number for your replacement? My FS 800 has done the same thing a couple of times. Its a good thing that I leave the readout on the temp setting!!!

You may want to double check this but the part # I came up with for the newer 800s is 2410881
