Help with back seat for my kids

I have been looking into putting in a seat in the cargo box for my 2 daughters (ages 3 and 5).

I am trying to decide to use 2 bucket seats vs a bench seat that would fit in the box.

Does anyone have any recommendations on one over the other?

Can anyone provide any companies that make them for the 900?

Has anyone purchased an aftermarket kit for cargo box seating?

There are quite a few companies that make after market seats that would work - ranging from about $65 to over a $1000. Google 'UTV seats.' If you are handy, you could fab up some brackets and mount some boat seats - very inexpensive and comfortable. Some people have also used seats from minivans or school buses. Which ever direction you decide, please don't be tempted to put your girls in them until you have extended your roll cage and installed appropriate restraints. You would be surprised at the number of accidents that happen even at slow speeds on flat trails

X 2!

I have seen a ranger 700 crew turn over on It's side at a VERY slow speed, and virtually no grade... I was riding directly behind them when it happend, wondering "how the hell is this happening" as I'm watching it tip over. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and we just rolled it back on all fours and continued on. Good Luck, the extra seating is handy for sure.

I made back seats to take my grandkids in when I had the Ranger 700. The bed on the 900 is exactly the same size and so I kept the seats, also have the rack sides that Polaris makes. The tailgate locks in and I put a bolt through the release handle so the bed can't come open unexpectedly. Works great. I'm not good at posting pictures but would be glad to email them to you. Just need you e-mail.

I love my buckets. Seats are bolted to a frame that is bolted to the Ranger frame. The only suggestion I have is make sure the cage attaches to the frame and not just to the bed sides. I tipped a Ranger with an aftermarket seat and cage that used the bed sides for attachment and it was not pretty. Luckiily no one was in the back at the time. X2 on the legality. Here in CA I think it will be against the law before the year is up.

I use a Great Day deluxe rumble seat. Easy to remove/add. Held in place by 4 easy to remove pins. Comes with 2 seat belts. The brackets stay in place. I have a 2" channel iron strip on each side under the box for support. I made my own rubber mat that fits over the bracket to cover the bottom of the bed. The polaris cargo rack is from my prior 800 ranger.

I put a piece of OSB mounted on a wood frame over the brackets so I can have a flat bed if need.

I use a double, hitch extender from Harbor Freight. I use this with a step in the hitch and it is easy to climb into the back of the bed over the tailgate.

Another XP900 Ranger cage option.

I know it is an old thread and thought I would add pictures of another cage option we recently added. The mounts are laser cut and utilize factory mounting holes on the top cross bar, the lower mount requires some drilling and uses crush sleeves inside the factory channel for strength.

I've been eyeballin' that FergFab bed cover for awhile now. Would be great for my inlaws ride to shade his dog. Spoke with Mike about it, didn't pull the trigger but super nice guy. Don't know if they make 'em for the pro fit cage yet.

I haven't looked a Marshall MotoArt in a while but I thought they had a kit, you remove the bed and it bolted on rollcage and seats. If it wasn't them if some other company. It looked kinda like the Honda pioneer 5 they way you sit right behind the driver passenger.

FergFab has some great looking options for add on's. Lots of times you get what you pay for. If you want the best. It costs money.

I just picked one up a few weeks back from Ranger Lifts out of Michigan, love it so far, you can get either bucket seats or a bench. I went with the bucks. For the price I couldn't go wrong I don't think. PM for the price I got, I don't know if he wants everyone to know. Also I can send pics if anyone wants
